Speakers and Events Oversight Group

The Speakers and Events Oversight Group’s purpose is to have operational oversight of events which have been deemed high risk as part of the University’s room booking process and/or escalated directly under the Policy on Speakers and Events. This Group is chaired by the University Secretary.

The Group reviews events with the aim of enabling events on campus to go ahead safely and lawfully.

The Group does not consider all events taking place at the University. It focuses on events that might have security or safety implications and then considers how the University can best support event delivery. If you are running an event that should be reviewed by the Group, please contact the Group Secretary.

Any student or staff member who is organising an event is welcome to contact the Secretary to the Group for guidance if they think that their event might fall under the Group’s remit. The Secretary to the Speakers and Events Oversight Group is Anda Nicolson. Please contact her by email.
