Alan Mackay

Alan is the Deputy Vice-Principal International and Director of Edinburgh Global. With 24 years at the University, he leads international strategy, builds global partnerships and enables mobility and immigration services to grow the University's impact and reputation.

  • The Study and Work Abroad programme (SWAY)
  • Education Beyond Borders
  • The Staff Immigration Service
  • The MasterCard Foundation Programme  
  • The Confucius Institute for Scotland.

His priorities include:  

  • Delivering the international objectives in Strategy 2030
  • Deepening strategic partnerships in key regions
  • Growing high quality transnational education
  • Increasing student and staff mobility
  • Strengthening the University's global reputation and impact.
