Development and Alumni (D&A) focuses on building meaningful relationships with alumni, donors, staff, and students. The team is proactive in responding to the changing needs of the University, its students, and the wider community, aiming to deliver social, cultural, and economic benefits to Edinburgh, Scotland, and beyond. D&A is organised into three main areas: Alumni Relations, Philanthropy and College Advancement, and Services. Working collaboratively and creatively, the team is dedicated to strengthening the Edinburgh community, nurturing talent, and supporting world-leading education and research.General CouncilD&A is also responsible for the General Council, an advisory body composed of graduates, academic staff, and members of the University Court. Chaired by the Chancellor, the Council, through its Business Committee, provides governance advice to the University Court.
