Theresa Merrick

Theresa is an experienced senior leader in higher education communications, marketing, public affairs and public engagement with twenty years’ experience in four Scottish universities.

Following four years at Glasgow Caledonian University as Director of Marketing and Public Relations, she spent almost seven years at Heriot-Watt University, firstly as Director of Corporate Communications and latterly as Director of External Affairs.

Theresa then moved to the University of Aberdeen taking up the post of Director of External Relations, which she held for four years, before taking up her current post of Director of Communications and Marketing at the University of Edinburgh in 2018.

Theresa holds an MA in Hispanic Studies and Psychology and an MBA from the University of Glasgow.  Theresa is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
