Theresa Merrick

Theresa has responsibility for leading communications, marketing and stakeholder relations.  Theresa is an experienced senior higher education leader in these areas and has twenty years’ experience in four Scottish universities.

After starting her career in the private sector, Theresa moved to local government and then higher education as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Glasgow Caledonian University.  She joined Heriot-Watt University in 2007, moving to the University of Aberdeen as Director of External Relations in 2014. Theresa took up her current post at the University of Edinburgh in 2018.

Theresa is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Theresa holds an MA in Hispanic Studies and Psychology and an MBA from the University of Glasgow.
