Jon Turner

Jon was Director of the Institute for Academic Development (IAD) from its inception in 2010 until moving into his current role in January 2023. Jon has a PhD in geology from the University of Edinburgh and has worked for the University since 1995, initially as Postdoctoral Fellow and Masters programme Director. 

Prior to setting up the IAD he was responsible for doctoral skills training in the University and has extensive experience in supporting doctoral education and training with Universities in Japan and Norway as well as the UK.
